Terms of service

1. Who may use this service

You must be 18 or older to use Chatiw. By using it you confirm that you are, that you have the legal capacity to agree to these terms, and that you are not barred from using the service under the law that applies to you or by a previous ban.

2. Your session and your account

Opening the chat creates a session for you automatically. You may later connect a sign-in method so the same account is available on other devices. You are responsible for what happens through your session or account, and for keeping any sign-in credentials to yourself.

Sessions are not permanent. Clearing your browser data ends the session, and an unconnected guest session may not be recoverable afterwards.

3. How you may use it

Chatiw is for personal, non-commercial conversations. The community guidelines form part of these terms and describe what is and is not allowed. In addition, you agree not to:

• use bots, scripts, scrapers or any automated access;
• advertise, promote or drive traffic to another service;
• attempt to bypass a block, a ban or any technical limit;
• record, publish or redistribute another user's conversation, image or voice without their agreement;
• reverse engineer, interfere with or attempt to gain unauthorised access to the service;
• use the service for anything unlawful.

4. Your content

What you send stays yours. You grant Chatiw the limited permission needed to operate the service — to transmit, store and display your messages and photos to the person you are talking to, and to review them where a report or a legal obligation requires it. That permission exists to run the service and for nothing else: your conversations are not published, sold, or used as website content.

You are responsible for what you send, and you confirm you have the right to send it.

5. Other people's content

Conversations happen between users. Chatiw does not pre-screen what people say to each other and is not responsible for it. If something breaks the rules, report it — see safety for how, and what happens next.

6. Credits and purchases

Starting is free and your first conversations are included. Some features use credits, which can be purchased. The price is shown on screen before a purchase and before a feature consumes credits.

• Credits are a licence to use features within this service. They are not money, they have no cash value, and they cannot be transferred or exchanged outside the service.
• Payments are processed by the payment provider shown at checkout, under that provider's own terms.
• Credits that have already been used cannot be returned, because the feature they paid for has been delivered.
• Nothing here removes any statutory cancellation or refund right you have under the law that applies where you live.

7. Suspension and termination

Access can be limited, suspended or ended if these terms or the community guidelines are broken, if it is needed to protect other users, or if the law requires it. Serious violations — anything involving a minor, a credible threat, or coercion — result in a permanent ban with no notice.

You can stop using the service at any time and can ask for your account to be deleted; see the privacy policy for what deletion does and what has to be retained.

8. Availability

The service is provided as it is. There is no promise that it will be available without interruption, that a conversation will be matched within any particular time, or that any specific person will be available. Features may change or be discontinued.

9. Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, Chatiw is not liable for indirect or consequential losses arising from your use of the service, from conduct by other users, or from any interruption to it. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

10. Independence

This service operates at chatiwus.com and is not operated by, affiliated with or endorsed by any other service using a similar name.

11. Changes to these terms

These terms will change as the service does. When they change materially the date at the top is updated. Continuing to use Chatiw after a change means the updated terms apply to you.
