Video chat with one person,
not with a room
On a rooms-based chat site, video is something you get to after working through a list. Here it is the starting point: you are matched with one person, and you pick how you want to talk before anything turns on. No sign-up form, nothing to install.
Start chattingWhat each mode asks of your device
The match screen opens on Video — so if you want to stay on the keyboard, choose Text before you start. Nothing is turned on until you pick.
Text
Just the keyboard. Nothing is asked of your camera or microphone, and nothing has to be allowed before you start.
- No camera
- No microphone
- Works on any connection
Audio
A voice conversation without being on camera. Your browser asks for the microphone once, when you start.
- Microphone
- No camera
- Works on mobile data
Video
Both cameras on, once you have each chosen it. This is the mode the screen opens on — so it is also the one to change if you did not want it. Your browser asks permission once.

- Microphone
- Better on Wi-Fi
Why one to one changes the video
In a room, a camera is performing — several people can see you, and you are one tile among many. One to one is a conversation instead: one person, their full attention, and nobody reading along.
It also makes leaving clean. Ending a one-to-one conversation is one action and needs no explanation, where stepping out of a room you are visible in never quite is.
- No room listYou are matched, not left to browse.
- No audienceNobody else sees or hears the conversation.
- Nothing publishedNo profile, no feed, no searchable history of it.
- One action to leaveAnd no reason owed to anyone.
About the camera prompt
Your browser — not this site — asks whether to allow the camera and microphone, and it asks once, at the moment you start a mode that needs them. Declining is a normal answer: pick Text and nothing is requested at all.
On cost: switching between Text, Audio and Video is never charged. Your opening conversations are on the house. Past that, longer calls and gifts run on credits, with the number shown on screen before you spend it — nobody finds out afterwards.
No site can stop a screenshot. Assume anything visible on camera could exist afterwards — that is true here and everywhere else. More on that in what safety actually means.
About video here
- Do I need to install anything for video chat?
- No app, no plugin, no browser extension. Video runs on the open web standard every modern browser already ships with, so a phone from the last few years handles it without installing anything.
- Can I start without turning my camera on?
- Yes. The match screen offers Text, Audio and Video and it opens on Video — so choose Text or Audio before you start. A text match asks nothing of your camera or microphone, and you can switch modes later inside the conversation if you both want to.
- Is it a video chat room?
- No. There are no public rooms here. Every conversation is one to one, with nobody else watching or reading along, and nothing you say is published to a profile or a feed.
- Can I pick who I video chat with?
- No. Matching is random, and there is no filter by gender, age or looks. Once you are connected you can see where the other person is and which language they use — enough to know in a second whether this will work. If it will not, one tap ends it.
