About Chatiw
An online chat site. One conversation at a time, in the browser you already have.
What this site is
Chatiw is an online chat service at chatiwus.com. You open it, get matched with one other person, and talk — by text, by voice or by video, whichever you pick. There is no registration form standing in front of that, and there is no app to install first.
The idea is deliberately small. Not a social network, not a feed, not a profile you have to build before anyone will talk to you. Just the conversation, and a clear way out of it when you are done.
How a conversation works
Opening the chat puts you on the match screen, where you choose Text, Audio or Video — it opens on Video, so pick Text if you want to stay on the keyboard. Starting matches you with one person who is available, and shows you where they are and which language they speak.
From inside that conversation you can send messages and photos, move to a voice or video call if you both want to, follow someone so the conversation is still there later, and block or report them if they make you uncomfortable. Ending it takes one action and needs no explanation.
Every conversation is one-to-one. There are no public rooms on this site, nothing you write is published to a profile or a feed, and no third person is reading along.
Who can use it
Anyone old enough to agree to the rules, wherever they are. The US in chatiwus.com is the address, not a restriction: people here are in many different countries, and each conversation shows the other person's country and language so you can see straight away whether you have one in common.
What it costs
Starting is free: your first conversations are included, and there is no subscription you have to take before trying it. Some things — longer calls and gifts, for example — use credits, and the cost is shown on screen before you use them. The terms of service set out how purchases work.
Who this is for
Adults. You must be 18 or older to use Chatiw, and the community guidelines explain what is expected of everyone here. If someone appears to be under 18, report them — that is one of the reasons the report button exists.
Contact
For questions about this site, or to report a problem with a conversation, use the report and support controls inside the chat. A published support address will be added here once it is live.
