Community guidelines
Short version: talk to people the way you would want to be talked to, take a no the first time, and do not bring anything illegal into a conversation.
Who can be here
Chatiw is for adults. You must be 18 or older to use it. Accounts that appear to belong to a minor are removed, and reports about them are treated as the highest priority on the site. If you think the person you are talking to is under 18, end the conversation and report it.
What is never allowed
- Sexual content involving minors, in any form, including drawings, descriptions or roleplay. This results in a permanent ban and referral to the authorities.
- Harassment, threats, hate speech or targeting someone because of who they are.
- Sexual content that the other person has not consented to. Nobody has to see or discuss anything they did not agree to, and "they did not say no" is not consent.
- Scams and money requests — investment pitches, gift cards, crypto, fake emergencies, or asking for a verification code.
- Sharing someone else's private information, including screenshots of a conversation with identifying details in it.
- Recording or reposting someone outside this site without their knowledge and agreement.
- Illegal activity, including drugs, weapons, and any form of trafficking or coercion.
- Impersonation — pretending to be a specific real person, or claiming to represent Chatiw.
- Automated or bulk use — bots, scripts, mass advertising, or driving people to another service.
What is expected
- Ask before steering a conversation somewhere personal, and accept a no.
- Let people leave. Nobody owes you a reply, a reason or a goodbye.
- Say what you mean about who you are. Playing a character is not the same as running a scam.
- Report what you see. Most of what gets acted on is something someone chose to report.
What happens when a rule is broken
Reports are reviewed and the account is acted on. Depending on what happened and whether it has happened before, that can mean a warning, losing access to parts of the service, or a permanent ban. Serious cases — anything involving a minor, a credible threat, or coercion — skip straight to a permanent ban.
Blocking someone is separate and immediate: it is your decision, it does not need anyone's review, and it takes effect the moment you use it.
If a decision about your account seems wrong
Mistakes are possible. If your account was actioned and you believe that was wrong, get in touch through the support controls in the app and explain what happened. Explain rather than repeat — the more specific you are about the conversation and the timing, the more likely it is that a review can find it.
